Color Definitions

Analogous Color System: The combination of two or more colors that lie adjacent to one another on the color wheel, tending to create a feeling of harmony.

Complementary Color System: Colors that sit across from another on a color wheel and contrast most extremely.

Achromatic Color Scale: A color that has no hue or saturation; black, white, and gray.

 Split-Complementary Color System: A manner of using color characterized by combining a color with the two colors adjacent to its complementary color.

Monochromatic Color System: A manner of using color in which one color dominates and is sometimes combined with its various tints and shades
